Yeah, the showmobile was a big deal. It would always create lots of excitement wherever it was. It got around. I remember it was down at the oceanfront at lot. I remember seeing it at Ocean View as well. Also, in the early/mid 70s, WGH had a remote studio in Military Circle. People would stand outside the window and gawk at the DJs every move. But nothing was cooler than the studio at Todd Center on Mercury Blvd., Hampton. Some old timers can tell stories about the studio before that. Some type of hut at the base of the tower. Pictures of it do exist. GH was holding its own in Hampton Roads even in to the early 80s. It was a crying shame that Comcor of Ohio bought it without knowledge of its history and, in great measure, ruined it. They treated George Crawford Sr. poorly, thus contributing to his early death. That's what I think, anyway.
